1. Install and Open FileZilla
- Download FileZilla (client) from the official website: https://filezilla-project.org
- Install the software by following the on-screen instructions.
- Launch FileZilla.
2. Access the Site Manager
- In the top menu bar of FileZilla, click on File.
- Select Site Manager.

A configuration window will appear, allowing you to create a new site and fill in the necessary connection details.
3. Configure Connection Settings
- Add a New Site
- In the left panel of the Site Manager window, click on New Site.
- Give it a name, for example: mesocentre.
- Enter the Basic Parameters
- Host:
login.mesocentre.univ-amu.fr
- Port: Enter the port number provided to you.
- Protocol: SFTP – SSH File Transfer Protocol
- Authentication Method
- Logon Type: select Interactive.
- User:
your_username
- Password: you can leave this blank, as the connection uses an SSH key (Interactive mode).
4. Advanced Options (Optional)
- In the left panel of the Site Manager window, click on New Site.
- Give it a name, for example: mesocentre.
- Host:
login.mesocentre.univ-amu.fr
- Port: Enter the port number provided to you.
- Protocol: SFTP – SSH File Transfer Protocol
- Logon Type: select Interactive.
- User:
your_username
- Password: you can leave this blank, as the connection uses an SSH key (Interactive mode).
You can further personalize your connection if needed:
- Default local/remote directories: to open directly into a specific local folder and target folder on the server.
- Charset, Transfer Modes, etc.: the default settings usually work fine.
5. Connect
- Save your changes by clicking OK.
- In the Site Manager list, select the site you just created (e.g., mesocentre).
- Click Connect or double-click the site name.
FileZilla will then attempt to connect to the server via SFTP on the previously specified port.
If it’s your first time connecting, a warning may appear regarding the server’s SSH key fingerprint. Verify it is the correct server fingerprint.
6. Verify the Connection
Once the connection is established, you will see the remote server’s file explorer on the right side of the FileZilla window, and your local machine’s file explorer on the left side. You can now transfer files (by dragging and dropping or by right-clicking on files/folders).
